It is hard to believe that it has been two years today since we became Mr. & Mrs. Beck.
This was the happiest day of my life and it marked the single best decision I have ever made. The first major test we had as a couple was on our honeymoon when we missed our cruise ship. We were devastated and had to figure out what to do. We ended up having such a good time and our "detour" ending up being the highlight and the most memorable part of our trip. We went to an island, Providenciales which is apart of the Turks and Caicos and there was nobody on the beautiful beach!
That is how we started off our marriage by making the best of a difficult situation. I am so grateful to be married to Ted Allen Beck. He is my best friend and an incredible companion. He teaches me so much through his example of selfless service and I try to emulate his example. He truly does help me to be a better person. Ted is the most patient man I have known. He is completely steady and rock solid.
I am also very grateful to Ted who helped me find something that I have been missing for quite some time - MEAT! Pork chops, bacon, sausage, these are a few of my favorite things. Thank you Ted!
When I went through a 20 hour labor and was told I was only dilated to a 1, I completely broke down and was sobbing. I screamed that the baby was never going to come and that I would be pregnant for the rest of my life. He calmly held me in his arms and helped me get through the rest of the labor. He never left my side even though he was exhausted having tried to ease the pain throughout the night. We fought the good fight together and at one point when we were trying to induce labor he was walking beside me chanting army cadence. Oddly enough, it helped.
Ellis has added another level of depth to our relationship that is impossible to describe. Ted is a fantastic father, he adores our little guy. He makes an incredible sacrifice working as hard as he does so that I can stay home.
Ted is an unbelievably hard working man. Work is never done for Ted. When he comes home he is willing to do anything and everything that needs to be done. I am so grateful to have a husband that consistently asks, what can I do to help. At times, he gets a little worn out...
Ellis is happy to be around him. He LOVES his daddy. The first words he learned how to say were Da-da and that is his favorite thing to babble. da da da da da da
It is so fun to see their interaction. Some of the things that Ted does with Ellis I never would have thought to do. It is no wonder he adores his daddy.
I am such a lucky girl that I am married to Ted. He is an amazing man, and incredible father. I am thankful for our marriage every day but it is nice to take a moment and reflect on our incredible journey.
I look forward to a lifetime of memories and many more adventures!
