We recently celebrated our little girl's first birthday. I can't believe she is one already! I haven't posted in a long time and one of my last posts was about the apprehension I was feeling before she was born. I totally remember feeling the nervousness of having a second child like it was yesterday!
We didn't find out what gender our baby was until she was delivered. That was SUCH a fun surprise. I had talked myself into being okay with either gender. I was so delighted to meet my little squishy Lacey girl. I seriously can't believe she is already one! Even though one year is really not that long of a time, it feels like she has always been apart of my life. She is such a little angel.
Part of what made me nervous was the relationship with Ellis. Truthfully, I think the greatest gift I could have ever given him was a sibling. It is the most dear thing in the world to watch their relationship grow.
Ellis loves his little sister. Neither Ted nor I can get Lacey to laugh the way Ellis can. She got a new walking toy and it brought tears to see Ellis clearing the way for her to walk and helping her when she got stuck. Of course, we also have the flip side of him teasing and tormenting his sister. But isn't that the way with siblings?
It has been so much to watch her grow and develop! It is really fun to rediscover the world through the eyes of a baby. It has been a joy to watch her meet her milestones of laughing, cooing, clapping, pointing, sitting up, crawling, and pulling up. Although I am thrilled with how much she is thriving there is a very strong part of me that still wants to cuddle that sweet little newborn 7lbs baby.
Happy Birthday Baby Girl! We are so happy to have you as apart of our family!!! You bring joy to our life every single day!
